Summit Flower Escape
Flowers abound throughout the garden, scents, colors and textures accent this Summit flower Escape.
Description of original landscape
The original landscape was nothing but a clean slate of dirt. The original home was knocked down and a new home was constructed to blend in with the Summit Ave. architecture. Gardens had to also to be approved by the Summit Ave. Architectural review board to make sure they tie into the History of this region of St. Paul.
Owner’s vision and goals
Owners wanted privacy from the rear of the lot from the street, and lush gardens in the front yard for seasonal interest. The gardens in the front had to accent the architecture of the property and give privacy from the neighbors on both sides of the home. The owner travels the continent of Asia for work, and collected a Japanese lantern while on his travels so he wanted a place in the gardens for the lantern to be placed. Maintenance was not a big concern, since they knew they would have Tri Designs take care of the gardens throughout the year.
TriDesigns assessment
Tri Designs assessment was to create privacy first with large trees placed properly to high light and block views were needed, and save the existing trees that existed on site. The gardens would help create private gardens within them selves and colors where open to any color on the rainbow. Entertainment area needed out the back of the home with privacy to create a more private setting.
TriDesigns solution
The design was to create privacy, yet not so private that the owners felt closed in a cage. The gardens would have colors of all types and textures that would highlight the gardens thru the winter months, and attract butterflies and birds. The lawn area would be very minimal and be more of an art form. The front entry gardens would include the Japanese lantern area, so as guests arrive they could see the beauty of the lantern either by day or lighted at night. The decking in the back of the home is the main entertainment space for gatherings, and the secondary deck is private with a spa of the master suite for the ultimate relaxation. Tri Designs looks forward to creating a relaxing garden hideaway in your private yard.
